Police said that early Sunday, a shooting at a university in the United States killed one person and injured seven others. Just a few days ago, another gun incident at the same school resulted in one death.
Louisiana police said that at about 1:30 am local time, an attack occurred at Grambling State University in Louisiana. One student was injured and one of them was in critical condition in the hospital.
The school tweeted that the student “received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries” and the deceased was not registered with the university.
This is the second shooting at a historic black college in the southern state of the United States in less than a week-although the incidents are believed to be unrelated.
The school stated that back-to-school activities-annual football matches and parties-and Monday and Tuesday classes have been cancelled.
The statement added that the curfew will be imposed until further notice.
“GramFam, it’s time to unite without apology, because we united to comfort each other after the incident this morning,” the school tweeted earlier Sunday.
A later tweet pleaded with students to avoid spreading misinformation about the investigation.

The police also released the name and photo of a suspect in the same campus shooting.
According to the police, a 19-year-old man was killed and a 16-year-old man was injured in the shooting incident on October 13.
