The cinema in the park is back at Umm Al Emarat Park – from now until the sweaty season returns, showing a selection of free films every weekend (although you’ll need to pay the Dh10 entry fee). Al Wathba Wetland Reserve is a great place for families and children to wander through a truly untouched Emirati habitat. Primarily known for its stunning population of pink flamingos, it is also home to more than 250 species of birds, 37 species of plants and a wide variety of aquatic life. Some of these were discovered here – completely new to science, but many more may be unique to the region.
