As the name suggests, this art house is all about getting a little messy to create colorful abstract masterpieces. They have a few different projects for adults and kids – including neon work, fluid paint, pendulum art and spin art. Officially known as Makespace, the art house has a new name – Make, a new face, but their clever collection of events all take place in the same sleek space. At Make Kids and adults there is a dizzying array of art, design, technology and craft workshops – offering hands-on instruction in jewellery making, word processing, ceramics and metal shopping. Manarat Al Saadiyat Creative Lab

The Creative Lab Summer Camp will return to Manarat Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi for a series of creative workshops from July 18th to July 28th. With a special focus on music, there are daily lessons designed for children aged 9 to 12 from 9am to 2pm. National Aquarium

Located in the amphibious wonderland of the Flooded Forest at the National Aquarium, a brand new interactive play center – Bella and Rio Playground – designed to bring kids closer to nature, has just opened and is completely free for ticket holders.Named after a local aquarium resident, this pair of hyacinth macaws Bella and Rio’s Playground offer an inspiring, exciting and educational experience Made and shaded models of such flood forest animals, including macaws, anteaters, monitor lizards and capybaras, will come to life in an animated wall display. More interactive educational fun in the form of video-mapped volcanoes, tinkering with plankton, you can meet pearl diver Khalid, and get hands-on with the interactive features of the Ice Age.

On the schedule you will find activities such as sunsets, dream catcher making, button art, decoupage, bear yarn (don’t know what that is, but consider us), interactive felt, mosaic making, paper quilting and real Minds – An incredible palette of other creative colors.

This can all be experienced at the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi, after Qasr Al Hosn, until 31 August – as part of the fun-filled calendar of events under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi)’ Summer Like You Mean It’ campaign. Cakes and Sprinkles is a pop-up pop-art pastry shop for a limited time serving cakes, coffee, ice cream and, under the theme of “The Love of Sweets”, see stunning works from 25 Emirati artists. There are also some really fun interactive installations and entertainment areas that look perfect for a family outing.

Qasr Al Hosn

One of the most important cultural centers in the entire UAE, Qasr Al Hosn is a national monument. Once the seat of the national government, the residence of the Al Nahyan family and home to the National Archives – the fort and watchtower (which dates back to around 1790) is now looking at its role as a historian of the UAE.It also just opened a brand new Craftsman’s House Offers guests the opportunity to learn about and even experience traditional Emirati handicrafts.

Warehouse 421

This homegrown arts centre aims to discover and nurture local and regional talent. Warehouse421 provides a space to educate and inspire artists and art lovers. They also host an incredible range of arts and crafts workshops and summer clubs for kids. Art on the wall, art on the plate, art in their hearts. The Art House Cafe in Abu Dhabi aims to provide a passionate experience with dining elements at its core.
