November 5 (Unified User Interface) – At least 13 people were killed on Saturday night after a fire broke out at a nightclub in the Russian city of Kostroma, causing the roof to collapse.
Earlier reports that the discovery of 15 bodies in a charred Polygon nightclub had been exaggerated, Russian news agency TASS reported.

A 23-year-old suspectt was arrested shortly after, Authorities confirmed.
“Due to complex operational search measures, the police found and detained a suspect for an illegal act in an entertainment venue in the city of Kostroma, resulting in a fire and death. At present, the suspect has been handed over to the investigating authorities,” Russia A statement from the commission of inquiry said.
The committee also confirmed that the suspect fired a “sparkler pistol” inside the nightclub.
The exact number of people inside the club at the time is unknown, although 250 people were evacuated from the building and at least five were taken to hospital with various injuries.
Rescuers said the fire took five hours to put out and engulfed an area of 37,600 square feet.
