A total of 13 Women’s WorldTour teams will compete in the inaugural Women’s WorldTour trip to the uae next month.

Only Jumbo-Visma and EF Education-TIBCO-SVB were absent from the four-day Middle East race, with FDJ-Suez, Movistar, Trek-Segafredo, SD Worx and home team UAE Team ADQ also among the top teams due to ride.

Seven intercontinental women’s teams will also travel to the UAE in February. BePink, Ceratizit-WNT, Laboral Kutxa-Fundación Euskadi, St Michel-Mavic-Auber93, Coop-Hitech Products, Top Girls Fassa Bortolo and Zaaf Cycling are on the starting list.

This is the first time the women’s UAE Tour has been held and the first time the women’s squad has traveled to the Middle East since the Qatar Tour was canceled in 2016. This is the third Under and Cadel Evans Ocean Road Race on the Ladies WorldTour calendar after the Tour Down.

The four-day race will be a good chance for the sprinters in the big group to score a win or two on the 2023 report card, with the three stages ending with a group finish.

Jebel Hafeet on Stage 3 is likely to be the only day that doesn’t end with a cross and should decide the overall race winner. The 10km climb averages 9% and can go as high as 11%.

With few opportunities for the climbers in the opening months of the season, the Jebel Hafeet final could attract some stars to the UAE tour.
