13-year-old Dubai singer Maya Din wins Hollywood vocal star-News

[ad_1]

Recall what you could boast about when you were 13 years old. The “most improved” player on the cricket team? 100% attendance? The biggest coin collection? Although they may play an important role in their own way, we are willing to bet that winning the international singing search at the base of the show business may be just a trump card. This is the honor that Mayadin, who was born and raised in Dubai, is currently celebrating. Recently went to the famous vocal star competition in Los Angeles, California, this talented young lady won the “Teen Best Performance Award” category. Vocal Star, a music management and consulting company, holds auditions all over the world and holds competitions every year to give finalists the opportunity to go to the United States to show their stuff in front of industry leaders, and those who impress people are often more than just trophy belts. Go home: Exposure and contact.

There, Din participated in a five-day intensive training camp and then gave a final presentation in front of major record company executives. Like every beautiful reality story, this journey is not without setbacks. After the pandemic had postponed plans for 18 months, Maya lost her voice two weeks before the start of the game. However, she survived, and now she has mastered the exercises. Therefore, the future of this UAE resident looks very bright. She noticed British traditions through her parents and lived in Australia for several years. Various agents, record companies, and casting directors representing Disney and Nick’s International Children’s Channel have been in contact with Din.

We interviewed the artist to learn more.

How does it feel to be awarded? How did you get in?

I am very proud because I have been working hard a few months before the show and I am very happy to have more opportunities to show up. I heard that Vocal Star auditioned to travel the world looking for talent. I asked my mother if I could audition for their dates in Dubai. We applied, we were invited to audition, and I was selected to join the finalists in Los Angeles. We flew from here, so this is a very long flight!

How do you feel during the game?

The competition involved extensive training, songwriting and industry quizzes with celebrities. The first round is to perform in front of industry experts. Only a few people were brought to the live show party (Hollywood’s red carpet event), fortunately I was one of the few selected. They make the game fun, so it doesn’t feel like a game at first. It’s very nerve-wracking, and I’m really afraid of messing up on stage. With the excitement that comes with tension, once on the stage, I feel free and blend in with my elements.

How do your friends and family view your success? How did you balance this game with the school?

They are very excited and want to know what will happen next. My family is also very supportive. My grandparents, uncles and aunts, as well as my parents and I live in Dubai. When you are close to your family, everywhere is like home. I found that living in Dubai is really fascinating because it has some amazing attractions, bright lights, great buildings, and most importantly, it is safe.

I will enter the University of North London School, but during the competition, I will study at home to balance the time between vocal training and school work.

Have you always been interested in music?

From the age of three, I began to ask my mother if I could play the violin, because I really wanted to try an instrument. When I was four years old, I received a birthday present! I have also done cheerleading, drama and dance, and I will always sing when I am at home. My mother signed me up for the musical, and I found that I was passionate about it. I joined my school choir and many performing arts schools in Dubai. I ended up singing in the opera house and performing in Peter Pan on QE2. Over the years, my enthusiasm for singing has become stronger and stronger. Last month’s trip to Los Angeles made me more confident to pursue my dreams.

It is rare to know what you want to do at such a young age. How do you want to stay on track?

My parents encourage me to do well and always advise me to follow my dreams. They are passionate about my work and put a lot of time into my passion. Not only do they fly to Los Angeles with me, they also have to listen to me singing all day long, drive me to meetings and classes, and help me establish and develop contacts. It is not easy for them to run a global consulting company, but all this is in the name of love!

What kind of music do you like and how would you describe your voice?

I like eventful and emotional music. My favorite artists are Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande. My favorite voice is slow, deep and powerful.

How does becoming a resident of Dubai affect your music?

Since I have been here for a long time, I have established many contacts over the years, some of whom are in the music industry. Over the years, I have also witnessed the transformation of Dubai with my own eyes. This is encouraging and I am proud to be part of the transformation journey.

After the game with all casting directors, the future looks bright. What are you looking forward to most? What is your dream project?

I am most looking forward to publishing my own music and music videos. I am eager to perform in front of thousands of people at a big concert. I also look forward to returning to Los Angeles. My dream project is to work and sing with artists I really like. I really want to get the first place.

Who do you think is your source of inspiration and why?

My parents gave me the greatest inspiration. They are motivated, successful, and hardworking, but never sacrifice my or my sister’s ambitions or dreams. They are caring, kind and super supportive, which inspires me. They instructed me to never change my identity for anyone or anything, but to remain unique.
