14 injured in Chicago Halloween shooting, including 3 children World News

[ad_1]

As many as 14 people, including three children, were injured in a drive-by shooting near the city’s Garfield Park on Halloween night, Chicago police said.

Chicago Police Chief David Brown said there were three teenage victims: a 3-year-old, an 11-year-old and a presumably 13-year-old, WLS-TV reported. The remaining victims were adults in their 30s and 50s. In addition, one person was hit by a car.

The Chicago Fire Department said it dispatched at least 10 ambulances to the scene.

Brown said the shooting, which occurred around 9:30 p.m. in a drive-by that ended seconds later, was captured on POD video, which police are reviewing.

Brown said initial information suggested there were at least two gunmen in the video, but that number could change. They seemed to open fire on the crowd indiscriminately.

There are several large groups around the corner, which is a popular gathering place nearby, Brown said.

Some were reportedly attending a vigil unrelated to the shooting.

The victims were taken to several local hospitals, and Brown said their conditions ranged from non-life threatening injuries to critical conditions. No deaths have been reported yet.

There is no known motive for the shooting, and Brown said there were no known clashes around the corner Monday night.

Police are waiting for the victim to complete treatment so they can interview them.

Brown said there has been no description of the car or criminal involved, and no one has been taken into custody.
