IoT connectivity provider 1oT has partnered with eSIM maker Workz to serve what it has identified as a void in the US enterprise market. The partnership guarantees secure and fast implementation of 1oT’s M2M global connectivity solution with Workz’s GSMA-certified eSIM and data generation services.
1oT’s remote SIM provisioning platform, eSIM Core, was launched last August to simplify and reduce the cost of connecting enterprise IoT devices. The system was certified by the GSMA in October and currently manages more than 1.4 million connected devices in 173 countries in areas such as micromobility, smart cities, autonomous vehicles, farm equipment and air monitoring.
eSIM provides remote management of devices over cellular networks and plays a key role in the Internet of Things (IoT). The GSMA says current adoption rates for the technology are relatively low compared to the technology’s long-term potential, and estimates that more than 37 billion connections will use eSIMs by 2030, around two-thirds of which will be in the enterprise sector.
Founded in Estonia, 1oT has recently expanded its offices to the US, further addressing the growing demand of North American businesses requiring fast and cost-effective IoT connectivity by combining multiple pre-negotiated carrier deals. The US opening is designed to benefit 1oT’s existing customers by providing faster on-site support and fulfillment of SIM orders on shorter notice.
