37-year-old Indian expatriate killed in fire in Abu Dhabi building-News

The incident happened on Friday afternoon.

Rafeeq Masood, an Indian expatriate, broke out in a building in the Mussafah industrial zone in Abu Dhabi.

A representative of the company said that Masood was a 37-year-old employee of the China Securities Regulatory Commission. He was on the second floor of the company’s dormitory because the air conditioner on the first floor caught fire.

“The incident happened on Friday afternoon. He was having lunch with several other people. According to the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Agency, a short circuit in the air conditioner caused the fire, which quickly spread upwards. Seeing the smoke filling the second floor, everyone He ran out. Masood is a bit cumbersome and must be unable to run. He must have fallen or slipped and died of suffocation. There are about 20 staff members in the building,” the representative said.

“The repatriation process is ongoing. We should be able to return the body by Sunday. Masood is from the Kollam district of Kerala. His wife, daughter and parents have survived,” he added.
