Abu Dhabi, UAE: 42 Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital’s innovative and disruptive coding school offering a unique peer-to-peer learning approach, hosted a BEACON-hosted session titled “Cyber Security Engineer: A Personal Journey from Zero to Hero” An insightful meeting in red. BEACON RED is one of the leading entities strengthening national security readiness across the Middle East, aiming to disrupt the status quo by addressing global national security issues. The session was moderated by Shatha Alahmed, UAE Cyber Security Engineer at BEACON RED, one of the UAE’s leading experts in this field, as she shared her career journey in the cyber security industry.
The conference was held as part of the ’42 Abu Dhabi Talks’ initiative, through which the school aims to host some of the most influential pioneers and leaders in important fields to highlight their success stories and share them with students. These lectures are designed to motivate students and broaden their knowledge of the limitless career possibilities available to coders across sectors, which enables them to embark on a successful career journey upon graduation.
A mother of two and a full-time cybersecurity engineer, Shatha’s career has inspired 42 Abu Dhabi students and taught them the certifications needed to excel in the field. 42 Abu Dhabi students discovered the variety of career paths available to them in the security field such as penetration testing, security engineering, threat intelligence and malware analysis, all of which are much-needed digital-centric positions in the current job market.
The session provided an overview of BEACON RED, and Shatha’s career as a cybersecurity engineer and mentor to young professionals. During the conference, Shatha provided 42 Abu Dhabi students with the tools and techniques to build bridges between coding knowledge and the fields of cybersecurity, forging a successful career path and enabling them to contribute to the UAE’s digital contribute to safety.
Shatha also spoke about BEACON RED’s recent partnership agreement with 42 Abu Dhabi, which aims to enrich students’ learning experience, upskill them in the national security sector and encourage them to compete for future roles in key areas such as defense and advanced technology .
