Kuwait and Egypt will join the host UAE team in the Middle East and North Africa region for the finals of the World Triathlon Championships.

A total of 45 national federations have confirmed their participation in the age group competition at the 2022 World Triathlon Championships Grand Final in Abu Dhabi next month, hosted by Dammam, with the United Kingdom and the United States of America (USA) leading the two largest teams of athletes arrival.
Taking place on Yas Island from 23-26 November, the prestigious global event is being held for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and will see participants from all over the world, including the UAE, take part in the categories.
As of today, the UK will have the most athletes at 351, followed by the US, who will bring 294 runners to the UAE capital. Canada will have 115, ranking third.
The four-day event will also feature seasoned and up-and-coming athletes from the MENA region.
As hosts, the UAE aims to make the nation proud, while Egypt and Kuwait will send their largest contingents since the 2015 Chicago edition.
Age Group World Championship teams will compete with thousands of triathletes in five categories: elite men and women; elite U23 men and women; elite disabled men and women; men and women age groups (Super Sprint Time Trial Distance, Standard Distance and Water Bike); As well as community and youth race.
Members of the local community can participate in the finals, but registration for community events for adults and children remains open. For adults, there are three events to choose from – Super Sprint (400m swim, 10km bike and 2.3km run), Sprint (750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run), while the standard includes 1.5km swim, 40km run km bike and 10km run.
These races can be done by one person, or two or three people can compete in relay races in a discipline. Youth competitions offer competition categories for children 9 years and older.
