5 ways to pay for public parking in the UAE

According to the Digital Government (DGOV), there are 5 ways car owners and drivers can pay for designated public car parks across the UAE.

Public car parks are usually located in residential and commercial buildings, shopping malls, government agency buildings, etc., DGOV added, noting that some of them can be used for free, while parking in cities requires payment of a fee. Fees vary according to each emirate and the parking period. different.

Those who are determined can obtain permits that allow them to use public car parks for free, DGOV added, indicating that parking fees can be paid in five ways, including: cash, prepaid parking cards, credit cards, via text message, or through the UAE government’s smart traffic app.

DGOV pointed out that there is information explaining how the fee is calculated based on the parking time, as well as payment instructions for each device that pays the parking fee, adding that fines and violations may be imposed if the instructions for using public parking lots are violated.

E-services at public car parks are available through the Integrated Transport Center (ITC) in Abu Dhabi, charging the balance of the financial portfolio, DGOV said.

Seasonal parking cards can also be renewed or purchased through Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), according to DGOV.

Car owners and rivers can obtain prepaid and rechargeable parking cards, information on parking zones, times, fees and fines in various emirates from: Abu Dhabi’s Parking System (ITC) and the Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) or Via the smart parking app.

In Sharjah, these services are available at the Sharjah Municipality’s Public Parking Department, and in Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, where parking cards can be issued or reservations for parking spaces can be applied for, DGOV said, pointing to the services Also available on the smart app on your phone.

DGOV clarified that through the service available on the Abu Dhabi ITC’s smartphone app ‘Darb’, parking fees can be paid electronically in 6 steps. These steps first click on “Pay Parking Fee”, then select the vehicle from the list (new vehicles can be added), then determine the parking type according to the platform type (Main or Secondary), then specify the parking period, and then pay the fee, the fee will be from the same vehicle The relevant e-wallet balance will be deducted, after which the validity period of the ticket will be displayed and it can be renewed for one hour.
