UAE – Residents of the UAE are preparing for the Eid al-Adha holiday and planning to make the most of the four-day holiday. During the festival, the capital has several unique places for families to visit and many amazing things to do.
The Eid al-Adha holiday will run from July 8 (Arafat Day) to July 11, and work will resume on July 12. Khaleej Times has listed some of the best places in Abu Dhabi where families can enjoy their Eid holiday.
Yas Island
Yas Island has announced a series of Eid al-Adha events, including fireworks illuminating the Abu Dhabi skyline from the Yas Bay waterfront at 9pm over three days during the holiday. The destination’s popular Kids Go Free offer allows children under 12 to enjoy three theme parks for free when accompanied by a paying adult – Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Warner Bros Worldâ„¢ Abu Dhabi. Accommodation and meals are also free.
Yas Water World
With over 45 thrilling rides for all ages, Yas Waterworld is one of the most popular destinations on the island. As part of DC Superhero Season at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, families can also enjoy over 29 rides and attractions, meet their favorite DC Superheroes and Looney Tunes characters, and take part in heroic deeds and activities.
With the world’s largest indoor skydiving flight room and the highest indoor climbing wall in the region, guests can conquer some truly record-breaking experiences at CLYMBâ„¢ Abu Dhabi this Eid al-Fitr.

Al Qana in the Rabdan area is a seaside destination and one of Abu Dhabi’s newest stunning projects. It offers a diverse mix of leisure, hospitality and entertainment.
One of its amazing attractions is the National Aquarium. This exciting waterfront attraction is home to 46,000 creatures and 300 species. Spread over 10 areas, the aquarium is the largest in the Middle East.
Al Qana’s latest openings include The Bridge, a comprehensive health and lifestyle destination, multiple dining venues such as Otoro and the latest restaurant of local chef legendary chef Akmal Anuar.

This is one of Abu Dhabi’s newest hospitality, leisure and entertainment destinations. This vibrant destination offers a variety of dining options, sports facilities, and other entertainment and leisure offerings. In addition to the skate park and children’s splash park and play area, there is easy access to the public beach, outdoor gym, bike paths and a pier with a wooden pier. Swimmers also have free access to Hudayriyat Beach, which covers 24,000 square meters, 600 meters of which are dedicated to swimming.
Cove Beach Makers District is Abu Dhabi’s newest lifestyle destination, a much-needed oasis on Al Reem Island. Want to enjoy Abu Dhabi’s famous year-round sunshine during Eid al-Fitr? The immaculate seaside beach is one of the best places to go. Not only does this beautiful beach have turquoise waters and soft white sand, it also has a beautiful seaside boardwalk, well-maintained walkways leading to manicured gardens and benches overlooking the picturesque Arabian Gulf. Sunset is a great time to snap a few pictures, so don’t forget to bring your phone. The 2km long beach is divided into three sections: Al Sahil (Gate 4, free entry) is ideal for singles and larger groups, Gate 2 is ideal for families and has its own quiet area, and Gate 3 is also very Suitable for families and children. The two beaches at the back are blocked from view by a fence. Showers, changing rooms and cabanas are available, and sun loungers and parasols can be rented for a fee. Lifeguards are on duty until sunset.
