79,000 Emiratis find jobs in UAE private sector, surpasses half-year target

[ad_1]

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) has reported significant progress in private sector Emiratization efforts, marking a significant increase in the number of Emiratis in skilled roles.

The half-yearly figures show that the target for Emiratisation exceeded the set 1% growth, demonstrating the continued commitment of private sector companies to this important initiative.

By the end of the first half of 2023, some 79,000 UAE citizens had found jobs in the private sector, a significant increase of 57% compared to the figure recorded at the end of 2022. This milestone marks significant progress towards the annual Emiratisation target for 2023.

The latest statistics show that 17,000 private sector companies currently employ Emirati citizens, a testament to the active role of the private sector in supporting the Emiratization process, a high priority initiative of the UAE government.

A noteworthy contribution to this growth was the launch of the Nafis program in September 2021. Since the program’s inception, more than 50,000 Emirati men and women have joined the private sector. The Nafis program has played a major role in this growth, further underscoring its successful impact in developing a strong local workforce within the private sector.
