Move aims to ease the financial pressure faced by companies and further enhance Dubai’s attractiveness as a business and investment center.
As part of a series of initiatives to promote economic growth in the UAE, a total of 88 services provided by Dubai government entities will provide fee reductions.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Committee, issued Executive Committee Resolution (19) on a total of 88 services provided by Dubai governments Fee reduction and exemption entity.
This move is aimed at alleviating the financial pressure faced by enterprises and further enhancing the attractiveness of Dubai as a business and investment center.
Exemptions and exemptions involve Dubai Land Authority, Dubai Maritime City Authority, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Municipality, Ministry of Tourism and Commercial Marketing (Dubai Tourism Authority), Dubai Court of Justice, Ministry of Economic Development (Dubai Economy) and Dubai Department of Health (DHA).
The decision is part of a series of measures taken by the government to stimulate economic growth, improve competitiveness, reduce the cost of living, improve the business environment and support investors.
Entities offering exemptions and fee reductions:
>> The Dubai Maritime City Authority will waive some of the fees associated with various types of residence visas, including processing residence visas for foreign applicants, issuing employment residence visas, urgently renewing residence visas, and transferring residence visas from government entities to the Authority. The issuance and renewal of annual representative office permits and replacement of lost certificates and permits will also be reduced.
>> The Dubai Municipality will waive certain fees related to labor supply room permits, reissuance of checks, emergency medical certificates and renewal of occupational health cards.
>> The fees that will be waived by the Dubai Tourism Authority include travel permits and replacement of lost travel permits, travel permits for persons under the age of 16, and fashion show permits.
>> The fees waived by RTA include the cost of issuing a letter of no objection to the transfer of traffic files, permits for road closures for large-scale construction projects, and expenses related to recreational bicycles.
>> The Dubai Land Department will waive the costs associated with changing the real estate broker’s broker card and modifying the real estate broker’s information.
>> The Dubai court will waive the cost of obtaining a certified copy of a civil case decision.
>> Dubai Economy will reduce the costs associated with the issuance and renewal of business center licenses and the issuance of government service licenses.
>> DHA reduces the cost of health certificates for marine activities.
The resolution also authorizes the head of a government entity to make a decision to reduce or waive any payment other than fees levied on its services and products, subject to prior approval from the Dubai Ministry of Finance.
The cancellation or reduction of such payments must be formalized through legislation and published in the official gazette.
Resolution (19) of the Executive Council in 2021 will take effect from the date of publication in the official gazette. The resolution repealed any other legislation that might contradict it.
