A senior leader of the PFLP said that although “this is a very painful time and words cannot express deep sorrow, we are very happy that Jarrar is free from the occupied prison”.
Jarrar was again in administrative detention until March of this year when the Israeli military court accused her of “belonging to an illegal organization” because she was associated with PFLP. She was previously imprisoned on this charge.

This is an Israeli policy that allows Palestinians to be imprisoned indefinitely, according to “Secret information” without filing formal charges against them or allowing them to stand trial.
In 2015, she was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment for the same crime-“member of an illegal organization”.
Since 1988, Israeli authorities have banned her from travelling, except for a three-week treatment in Amman, Jordan.
Jarrar was elected as a member of the PLC on the PFLP list in 2006. She has also been appointed to the Palestinian National Committee for the follow-up with the International Criminal Court.
