July’s spotlight is on watercolor artist Dori Greenbaum. Dori has been a watercolorist for many years. After raising her children in Southern California, she and her husband, Ellen, moved to the beautiful and historic gold rush town of Grass Valley. She is dedicated to learning new ways to express the beauty of nature. Although she experimented with other mediums, she always returned to the freshness and spontaneity of watercolor. When she works in the studio, paintings are carefully planned, and she takes time to choose a theme and mood. A travel journal needs quick sketches and fresh colors. If you’d like to check out her travel diary, head over to the studio at Asif Artist Studio and Gallery.
Dolly loves to travel and often teaches on cruise ships. Subjects are ports of call and she teaches at sea. The students are usually beginners, but after a few lessons, they are happy to have found a watercolor teacher when they get home.
