During Nevada City’s lively summer nights this July, The Miners Foundry and KVMR Presenting Spring Street Stage on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 9:30 pm featuring some of the local favorites live music The outdoor bar has music all night long!
This year’s lineup includes a variety of bands and musical genres.
On July 12th, the Spring Street Stage will present Possum. Possum plays Dead to create a family-friendly environment celebrating the timeless music of the Grateful Dead. A fusion of Americana, rock, blues and jazz.
Formed in 2015, with the flame lit on the Grateful Dead’s final Fare Thee Well tour, Scott Larson and Clif Edwards have teamed up to keep the candle burning. The light got brighter when Tyler Moore joined in 2016, and even brighter with the arrival of Christian Gutt in 2018. With Dave Finberg in 2021 and David Ekstrom in 2022, the embers grow brighter…and now the flames are hotter than ever .
Cliff Edwards plays lead guitar and sings, inspired by Garcia. David Ekstrom is responsible for rhythm guitar and backing vocals. Dave Finberg hammered the ivory, while Scott Larson provided bass and vocals, and Tyler Moore and Christian Gutt handled the Drums and percussion to control the rhythm.
Planet Jam will host its second annual Nevada City Summer Night on July 19th. Get ready to dance, their music is filled with ripping rock solos, popular reggae beats and fresh gypsy hits, accented and tight, modern meets old school tap roots. The band consists of Marius Todirita on guitar, vocals and keyboards, Kacy Todirita on bass and vocals, and Martin Webb on drums and percussion.
Planet Jam’s lyrics make a lot of sense. They actively present transformative ideas about border issues, political hypocrisy, seven-generation consciousness, freedom of expression, spiritual and cultural evolution, and Marius’ experience as a conscript in the Romanian Army during the 1989 revolution.

On July 26th, the Banner Mountain Blues Band took to the Spring Street stage, featuring blues, R&B, Funk, and a collection of fun, danceable covers that will captivate crowds of all ages! The members have opened with famous bands near and far. On July 26, Jerry Earwood on vocals and harmonica, Visa Eksyma on guitar and vocals, Steve Sheppard on bass, Herb Houston is on keyboards and Artie Chavez is on drums.
The Banner Mountain Blues Band, Northern California’s best blues band, brings their high energy, high quality and diverse selection of songs from Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Little Walter to Fabulous The Thunderbirds, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Robert Cray, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton, as well as other contemporary blues greats such as Tommy Tommy Castro and The Painkillers!
