Dubai International Airport remains busiest in July

In July 2023, Dubai International Airport (DXB) remained the busiest airport for international flights, with 4.9 million seats, 19% more international capacity than London Heathrow (LHR), which had 4.1 million seats.

DXB’s seats per day increased by 2% compared to the previous month, and London Heathrow grew by 1%. DXB’s strong performance in the first quarter of the year exceeded expectations, leading to a revised upward traffic forecast of 83.6 million passengers for 2023. Passenger numbers at DXB reached 95.6% of 2019 levels, with over 21.2 million passengers in the first quarter of the year.Photo

Among other airports, Amsterdam (AMS) ranked third and added 3% more seats per day compared to the previous month, while London Gatwick (LGW) added the most seats with 9% more per day than the previous month.

In terms of overall rankings, Atlanta (ATL) was the world’s busiest airport in July 2023 with 5.5 million seats, 12% more than Dubai International Airport (DXB), which held the second spot. Tokyo (HND) remained the third biggest airport with 4.6 million seats, showing a 2% increase in seats per day compared to the previous month.
