UAE Cracks Down: Dh1 Million Fine for Unlicensed Health Pros & Facilities

UAE Government Sets Dh1 Million Fines for Unlicensed Health Professionals The UAE government has enacted new laws regulating healthcare professions with penalties reaching up to Dh1 million.

Practicing without a license or using fraudulent documents for obtaining one can lead to fines between Dh50,000 and Dh100,000, along with possible imprisonment. Single-person operated healthcare facilities may be ordered to close.

The regulations cover various healthcare roles including nursing, laboratories, medical physics, physiotherapy, aesthetics, and more.

Only authorized individuals with recognized qualifications are allowed to practice, maintaining good conduct and fitness.

The law establishes a national medical register, and healthcare professionals are barred from selling or promoting medicines.

Fines range from Dh10,000 to Dh100,000 for unlicensed practice, with higher fines for facility directors. Violations can result in temporary or permanent closure and fines between Dh1,000 and Dh1 million.

Veterinary profession updates and foreign ownership allowances are also part of the amendments.
