Iconic Dubai Clock Tower Reopens After Dh10-Million Renovation

The iconic Deira Clock Tower in Dubai has undergone a stunning transformation, honoring the city’s history while embracing modernity. Dubai Municipality invested Dh10 million in this eagerly awaited project, enhancing the city’s urban landscape.

The renovation, initiated in May 2023, meticulously revitalized the area with attention to detail. It seamlessly blends solid flooring with horticultural elements, creating a visually appealing new look. At the heart of the redesigned roundabout, a contemporary water fountain stands as the centerpiece.

According to Dawoud Al Hajri, the Director General of DM, this project demonstrates the municipality’s commitment to revitalizing key landmarks and further elevating the city’s appeal and ambiance.

The Clock Tower Roundabout in Deira, a notable architectural and engineering landmark, has been given a new facade with modern designs that align with the nation’s cultural and historical heritage and Dubai’s status as a dynamic creative hub.

For many long-term UAE residents, the Deira Clock Tower holds cherished memories, offering solace and comfort.

The redevelopment incorporated various enhancements, including renovated floors, a redesigned multicolored water fountain, repainted structural elements, and sustainable landscaping.

Washingtonia palms and three tiers of wildflowers beautify the surroundings, creating captivating color patterns for visitors to enjoy.

The roundabout’s updated lighting system includes mapping, three-dimensional elements, and photographic displays suitable for national ceremonies and events. This project signifies Dubai’s ongoing commitment to preserving its heritage while embracing progress and modernity.
