ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon 2021 now extends to family members aged 6 to 70

All family members between the ages of 6 and 70 are now allowed to participate in the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon on the 26thday In November, the organizer Abu Dhabi Sports Commission (ADSC) and the event title sponsor Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) today confirmed the newly expanded age group.

One of the long-awaited Abu Dhabi sports calendar’s most popular events is back bigger and better in the third edition. As the age category expands, families are encouraged to participate in 2.5KM or 5KM running. Of course, there are more challenging 10 km, 42.2 km full marathons and a new project in 2021, namely the two-person marathon relay. Regardless of the distance, all participants will run along the picturesque Corniche in the iconic capital of the UAE as part of a special day.

Whether the participants are running or walking in the 2.5KM, 5KM and 10KM races of ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon 2021, all participants will start from 18th Street and then along the Corniche Road, around the oldest and most beautiful history of Abu Dhabi One of the stone buildings of Qasr Al Hosn. The runners will then pass the UAE Heritage Village, one of the highest flagpoles in the world, then pass Marina Mall and King Abdullah Street, before returning to the Corniche for the final lap of Qasr Al Hosn.

ADSC continues to coordinate with relevant government agencies to prioritize the health and welfare of all participants and spectators to ensure the success and safety of the event. The marathon will take strong safety precautions, requiring participants over the age of 16 to present a complete COVID-19 vaccination certificate and undergo a negative PCR test within 48 hours after the start of the race. People under the age of 16 need to have a negative PCR test within 48 hours of the event.

Runners who register for the 2020 event will automatically register for the 2021 event at no additional cost. No further action is required, and runners will be contacted to confirm their participation.

Due to the limited number of places and more than 4,000 registered participants, runners are encouraged to register as early as possible for any available entries in all categories, including marathon (350 dirhams), marathon relay-2-person team (550 dirhams), 10 kilometers (150 dirhams) Dirhams), 5 kilometers (75 Dirhams) and 2.5 kilometers (variable, 50 Dirhams).
