“Schengen Visa Stamps Replaced: New Entry-Exit System”

The Schengen region is developing a new entry-exit system, eliminating passport visa stamping to enhance visitor scrutiny. Francois Laruelle, Director of the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) Division at Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, explained that the system will collect biometric and facial scans at borders for identity verification. Passport stamping will be replaced by automatic registration.

Airlines will share passenger data for Europe-bound travelers to ensure authorized entry. Laruelle discussed these developments at the Global Conference for Shaping Future Port Policies in Dubai.
