See: Dubai’s RTA unveils two footbridges on a major road

Dubai’s RTA has inaugurated two new footbridges on Ras Al Khor Road, part of a broader initiative to construct seven footbridges. These additions reaffirm RTA’s commitment to improving traffic safety and providing secure pedestrian crossings. The bridges feature attractive designs and are equipped with advanced electromechanical systems, alarms, firefighting equipment, remote monitoring systems, and designated bike racks.

The first bridge connects Creek Harbour and the Ras Al Khor Industrial Area, spanning 174 meters in length with varying widths. It rises 6.5 meters above the road and includes ramps for cyclists.

The second bridge is located on Ras Al Khor Road, near Marhaba Mall and Wasl Complex in Nadd Al Hamar. It measures 101 meters in length, with similar width and height specifications and features electromechanical system rooms for safety and monitoring.

Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Traffic and Roads Agency at RTA, emphasized that these footbridges are constructed to meet global standards and prioritize safety and aesthetics. Their locations are strategically chosen based on various parameters, including pedestrian incident spots, traffic volume, and the movement of people between street sides, proximity to pedestrian crossings, bus stops, markets, commercial centers, and government and private entities.
