Beond, a luxury airline startup headquartered in Dubai, has officially launched its commercial operations, with its inaugural flights set to take off next month. The airline unveiled its first aircraft, an Airbus A319 configured with 44 all-lay-flat seats, at the Al Maktoum International airport in Dubai World Central.
Beond’s initial flights are scheduled to connect Dubai with Riyadh, Munich, and Zurich between November 9 and 17, and the airline will exclusively operate all-business class flights. In addition, the airline has announced plans for new routes from Dubai and Milan starting in late March 2024.
Over the next five years, Beond has ambitious plans to expand its fleet to 32 aircraft and serve 60 destinations. The airline will primarily operate a fleet of Airbus A320-family aircraft with lay-flat seating, catering to passengers traveling to the Maldives from Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. The first Beond aircraft will be on display at the Dubai Air Show in mid-November, and additional Airbus aircraft will join the fleet in late 2023 and early 2024.
One-way airfares for Beond flights start at 1,500 euros (approximately Dh6,000) per person, varying depending on the departure location. Beond’s mission is to transport travelers to unique and unspoiled destinations, providing them with the opportunity to embark on memorable vacations and explore new horizons. Tero Taskila, the founder and CEO of Beond, expressed the airline’s commitment to delivering exceptional travel experiences. Said Sascha Feuerherd, the Chief Commercial Officer of Beond, acknowledged the positive response from customers and stakeholders and expressed eagerness to welcome the airline’s first passengers as they embark on their journeys.
