During an Air India Express flight from Dubai to Amritsar, a sudden medical emergency compelled the crew to make an emergency diversion to Karachi, Pakistan, to provide immediate medical aid to a passenger.

The incident occurred on Saturday, October 14, when the flight departed from Dubai at 8:51 am local time, en route to Amritsar. Mid-flight, a passenger experienced a severe medical issue, prompting the crew to take swift action to ensure the passenger’s well-being.

An Air India Express spokesperson explained, “A guest on board our Dubai-Amritsar flight had a sudden medical complication in flight, and the crew chose to divert to Karachi, as it was the closest location to provide immediate medical assistance.”

The airport’s medical team, overseen by the airport doctor, administered necessary medical treatment, as reported by news agency ANI. Following a thorough medical assessment, the passenger was cleared to continue the journey.
