Scheduled for January 1, 2024, Monday, the declared holiday grants government employees a well-deserved break, with regular work resuming on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

The circular issued by the local government authority specifies exclusions for entities with employees working in shifts or those involved in public service and facility management. Working hours for these categories will be tailored to meet operational requirements determined by each entity.

In alignment with the federal government and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the holiday on January 1 extends a three-day weekend for employees across both the public and private sectors in the country.
