Pakistan’s “King of Comedy” Umer Sharif dies at the age of 66

Legendary Pakistani comedian Umel Sharif died in Germany at the age of 66.

His family and Pakistani officials confirmed his death on Saturday.

Sharif, who is battling heart disease, left Pakistan by air ambulance on September 28 and plans to undergo surgery in the United States next week.

However, due to the deterioration of his condition, he was taken to a hospital in Germany during his stopover.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany Mohamed Faisal wrote on Twitter: “We are deeply saddened to announce that Mr. Umer Sharif has passed away.” “We extend our deepest condolences to you. [his] Family and friends. Our CG [consul general] Appeared in the hospital to help the family in various ways. “

The news of his death caused people’s grief and a lot of condolences.

Prime Minister Imran Khan and opposition leaders Sheikhbaz Sharif and Vilavar Bhutto Zardari and many other politicians and dignitaries joined the entertainment and media industries to mourn the death of the artists.

“He has many talents and enjoys a unique position in the field of acting and comedy,” Khan said in a statement, adding that Sharif’s contribution to the art world will be remembered in the coming years.

Sharif was born in Karachi, a southern port city in 1955, and began acting as a comedian in a stage show in 1974.

His brilliant career spanning nearly five years has made him widely known as the “King of Comedy” in Pakistan.

He has also participated in TV and movies, and produced several popular films.

However, the stage is still his strong point because he pioneered stage play in Pakistan with the late comedy icon Moin Akhtar, who died in 2011.

Sharif has performed in dozens of countries around the world during his career.

His talent transcends political boundaries, as evidenced by the love and admiration he received in neighboring India, where many entertainers have regarded Sharif as a teacher and mentor for many years.
