Authorities have urged drivers to slow down and courteous pedestrians at designated intersections
Abu Dhabi police shared a video of the accident on Friday and urged motorists to give way to pedestrians in designated areas.
The police, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Monitoring and Control Center, released a video clip of a speeding pickup truck hitting a pedestrian as part of its safe route activities and “Your Comment” initiative.

In the video, a man can be seen crossing the road from the designated pedestrian zone. Before the pickup could slow down, he ran over the man.

The Traffic and Patrol Bureau of the Central Operations Department urges drivers to slow down at designated intersections and give priority to pedestrians, especially on internal roads in industrial and residential areas.
According to Article 69 of the UAE Traffic Law, the fine for impolite pedestrians in the designated intersection area is 500 dirhams, and six black spots will be recorded.
