Bhangra Dance, Costume Teacher: How Dubai School Welcomes Students on the First Day of 100% Live Learning-News

[ad_1]

Students, especially those who have been studying at home for more than a year, are very happy to come back.

On Sunday morning, the yellow school bus took over the roads in Dubai, and the students resumed full face-to-face learning.

Some schools spare no effort to make returning students feel comfortable. Not only did they post banners and ribbons, but there was also a school that welcomed the children back with Bhangra, a traditional Indian folk dance.

“We are going all out to speed up the pace… with dhols, dancing and pompoms to shine, and welcome our students and teachers back to campus. We hope students and teachers feel at ease; have fun on their first day back; and I am excited to come to the campus every day,” said Punit MK Vasu, CEO of the Indian High School Group.

“Music is closely related to everyone, and we hope that this welcome will set the tone for our students to shine throughout the school year. We are committed to serving each of us in this vibrant learning community within DSO India International School. Students bring learning.”

More than 75% of students Since the start of the school year or the new semester on August 29, the school has returned, and the survey shows that most schools fully comply with all Covid-19 prevention guidelines.

Now, students in Dubai can no longer choose distance learning unless they fall into one of the three categories outlined by the Knowledge and Human Development Agency.

All safety procedures-from risk assessment, Covid-19 awareness, daily temperature screening to crisis management-are in place and carefully planned by the school’s health and safety team.

At Dubai Amity School, an event called “Mindful Marhaba” was organized on Sunday morning to welcome students.

The teachers dressed up as interesting characters to create a relaxed and happy atmosphere for the students.

“This is a critical moment for education and it is worth celebrating. We are working closely with home learners to ensure seamless integration into our new and improved interactive learning space,” said Sangita Chima, principal of Dubai Amity School.

At GEMS Royal Dubai School, the day started “very smoothly”, especially the principal of the school, John Bagust, who stated that the school’s average attendance rate has reached 95%.

“We have school leaders at the entrance of every school, so we can welcome returning students and guide parents to the drop-off area,” he said.

“We are very happy to see our remaining students return to school for face-to-face learning. We think this decision further shows that things are slowly returning to normal.”

The school also restarted morning meetings, joint school activities, and after-school activities, but in order to meet safety regulations, social distancing was also taken into consideration.

We have been waiting for this day: students

Pulak, a 10th grade student at the Indian High School (IHS) in Dubai, said she was happy to see her campus corridors alive again with laughter.

“Finally, we went back to school and it felt so great… Believe me, there is nothing like this happiness.”

She added: “I’m very happy to be back on campus with all my friends in person. Every corner here speaks to us. For the past 18 months, we have been missing all of this fun. I can’t wait to see Laboratory, library and cricket ground.”

Jeslyn Rachel, a 9th grade student who has been studying at home for more than a year, is equally excited.

“At first, I was really anxious, because wearing a mask and making different agreements was a brand new experience. But when I stepped into the campus, all my anxiety disappeared because the school is very well arranged, and we are welcome to come back. “
