Sheikh Sultan Award Honors 555 Rising Stars in a Remarkable Ceremony
Recognising the largest number of talented youth since its official launch.
Sharjah, 13 August 2024: The Sheikh Sultan Award for Celebrating the Spirit of Youth (SSA), a pioneering regional initiative, has reached a milestone in its fourth cycle by awarding 555 young talents from citizens and residents across the UAE. This marks the highest number of recipients since the award’s launch in 2019, recognising achievements in categories including gold, silver, and bronze, following participants’ success in meeting specific requirements. The award, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, continues to highlight and support the diverse talents and capabilities of the youth in the region.
The Sheikh Sultan Award extended congratulations to the creative challenge champions who demonstrated their prowess across all levels in the current cycle, which saw an unprecedented turnout. This cycle attracted 906 participants aiming for three medals across various sections, marking the highest number of participants in any cycle in the award’s history.
Aziza Ibrahim Al Maazmi, Director of the Sheikh Sultan Award for Celebrating the Spirit of Youth, expressed the award’s pride in the remarkable achievements of the participants across various challenge fields. These accomplishments showcase the participants’ passion, creativity, will, and sense of responsibility. Al Maazmi highlighted how these achievements embody the award’s mission to acknowledge the energies and capabilities of young people, foster a culture of excellence, and inspire them to overcome life’s challenges, take responsibility, and boost their self-confidence and creativity.
Aziza Ibrahim Al Maazmi said: “We are thrilled to recognise a new cohort of exceptional youth who are the emerging pioneers and leaders poised to significantly contribute to the ongoing and sustainable development of society and the nation. We wholeheartedly congratulate them on their achievements and eagerly anticipate their continued success and accomplishments in their future endeavours. We hope their experiences will inspire and energise even more creative talents within the UAE.”
The Sheikh Sultan Award announced that 363 young men and 192 women were celebrated; among them, 42 received the gold medal, 50 the silver, and 463 the bronze. Those who completed their respective challenges included diverse nationalities residing in the UAE, with Emirati participants garnering the highest number of awards. In that order, the following were awardees from India, Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Oman, Canada, the United States, Australia, and Pakistan.
This cycle of the Sheikh Sultan Award saw significant participation from schools and cultural sports clubs across the Emirates. Notably, ‘Our Own English High School Sharjah – Boys’ and ‘Delhi Private School – Sharjah’ led in gold medal wins, while the ‘Emirates Scouts Association’ secured the most bronze medals. The highest number of silver medals were awarded to participants from ‘Sharjah Youth.’
The Sheikh Sultan Award , held annually and open to young individuals aged 13-18 from all nationalities within the country, has seen significant engagement across its four criteria: Adventure, Volunteering, Skills, and Fitness & Well-Being. Over the past three editions, more than 1,500 young men and women participated, with 153 honourees: 36 received gold medals, 43 silver, and 74 bronze.

الشارقة، 13 أغسطس 2024: أعلنت جائزة الشيخ سلطان لطاقات الشباب، الأولى من نوعها في المنطقة التي تُعنى بالاحتفاء بمواهب اليافعين والشباب ومهاراتهم وقدراتهم المتميزة في مجالات متنوعة، عن حصد 555 فائزاً من المواطنين والمقيمين على مستوى دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة لجوائزها المصنفة بالذهبية والفضية والبرونزية، وذلك بعد إتمامهم لمتطلبات الفوز في دورتها الرابعة 2024، مسجِّلةً بذلك رقماً قياسياً في عدد الفائزين منذ انطلاقها في عام 2019 تحت رعاية كريمة من صاحب السمو الشيخ الدكتور سلطان بن محمد القاسمي، عضو المجلس الأعلى حاكم الشارقة “حفظه الله”.
وهنّأت الجائزة أبطال التحدّي المبدعين الذين أثبتوا جدارتهم عبر جميع مستويات الجائزة في نسختها الحالية التي شهدت إقبالاً استثنائياً، حيث استقطبت 906 مشاركين في ميدالياتها الثلاثة والأقسام التي تندرج تحت كل منها، وهو أكبر عدد من المشاركات في دورة واحدة خلال مسيرة دورات الجائزة.
وأعربت عزيزة إبراهيم المازمي، مدير جائزة الشيخ سلطان لطاقات الشباب، عن اعتزاز الجائزة وفخرها بالإنجازات المميزة للمشاركين في مختلف مجالات التحدّي التي خاضوها، والتي تعكس الشغف والإبداع والإرادة وحسّ المسؤولية التي يتمتّعون بها، ما يترجم رسالة الجائزة المتمثّلة في تقدير طاقات وإمكانيات الشباب ونشر ثقافة التميُّز بينهم، وتحفيزهم على اجتياز التحدّيات الحياتية وتحمل المسؤولية، وتعزيز ثقتهم بأنفسهم وقدراتهم على الإبداع.
وقالت: “فخورون بإبراز مجموعة جديدة من شبابنا المتميزين الذين نرى فيهم نواةً لروّاد وقادة الغد، القادرين على لعب دور فاعل في دفع عملية التطوير والتنمية الشاملة والمستدامة قُدماً في المجتمع والوطن. نبارك لهم فوزهم ونهنّئهم من القلب جميعاً، ونتطلع إلى رؤيتهم يتابعون مشوار التميّز ويحقّقون مزيداً من النجاحات والإنجازات في مسيرتهم المستقبلية، آملين أن تكون تجاربهم مصدر إلهام وتحفيز لمزيد من الطاقات المبدعة في دولة الإمارات”.
وكشفت الجائزة عن فوز363 شاباً و192 فتاة؛ حصل 42 منهم على الميدالية الذهبية، 50 على الميدالية الفضية، 463 على البرونزية. وينتمي الفائزون إلى مختلف الجنسيات في الدولة، حيث نال المشتركون من مواطني دولة الإمارات على أعلى عدد من الجوائز، يليهم المشتركون من الهند والمملكة الأردنية والجمهورية العربية السورية وجمهورية مصر العربية وسلطنة عُمان وكندا والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وأستراليا وجمهورية باكستان الإسلامية على الترتيب.
كما استقبلت الجائزة في هذه الدورة مشاركات من طلبة المدراس والنوادي الرياضية الثقافية في جميع إمارات الدولة، حيث تصدرت مدرستا “مدرستنا الثانوية الإنجليزية الشارقة- بنين” و”دلهي الخاصة الشارقة” بعدد الميداليات الذهبية، وحصدت جمعية كشافة الإمارات أكبر عدد من الميداليات البرونزية، في حين ذهب أكبر عدد من الميداليات الفضية إلى مؤسسة “ناشئة الشارقة”.
يشار إلى أن جائزة الشيخ سلطان لطاقات الشبات تُقام بشكلٍ سنوي، وهي متاحة لليافعين والشباب من الفئة العمرية 13 – 18 عاماً من مواطني الدولة والمقيمين على أرضها من جميع الجنسيات. وتنقسم الجائزة إلى أربعة أقسام تتمثّل في المغامرة والتطوُّع والمهارات والأنشطة البدنيّة. وللمشاركة في ميداليتها الذهبية، يُشترط إنجاز هذه الأقسام الأربعة جميعها، وفي الفضية ثلاثة منها، أما البرونزية فتتطلّب إنجاز قسميّ التطوع والمغامرة.
وكانت الجائزة قد استقطبت في نسخها الثلاثة السابقة مجتمعةً أكثر من 1500 شاب وفتاة، تم تكريم 153 مشاركاً منهم: 36 منهم بالميدالية الذهبية، و43 بالميدالية الفضية، 74 بالميدالية البرونزية.
