ADNOC CEO Receives Energy Executive of the Year Award-News

Dr. Al Jaber received the award in a virtual manner at the Energy Intelligence Forum. He explained the leadership of the UAE and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces How decisive is his support.

“The truth is that without the vision and continuous guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, I would not have won this award today. Looking back on his career, Dr. Al Jaber praised the late Sheikh Zayed, the founding father of the UAE, for providing him and the citizens of the UAE with opportunities to realize their potential.

“From a very young age, I have always wanted to be an engineer. Working at ADNOC is my dream. Growing up in Sheikh Zayed, UAE, I have the opportunity to realize this dream. Our founding fathers established a country and All people share its wealth and encourage its young people to become what they can do. My father is part of that generation. He urges me to work hard and never give up everything I have to give. The important thing is He taught me to always express my love for my country through my actions and feedback.

Energy Intelligence noted Dr. Al Jaber’s role in planning modernization roads for national oil companies. He was elected by the leaders of the world’s top energy companies and is the 25th recipient of this honor. The last two winners of the award are Amin Nasser, President and CEO of Saudi Aramco, and Ben van Beurden, CEO of Royal Dutch Shell.

According to Dr. Al Jaber, the energy landscape has undergone major changes in the past five years at the helm, and the industry must remain agile and adapt to various external factors.

“Climate action is fundamentally reshaping the geopolitics, economics and policies of the energy system. New energy is rebalancing the energy structure. Dr. Al Jaber went on to detail how his career took him to Masdar and the vision of Sheikh Mohammed when he established the company.

“As early as 2006, some people thought that the establishment of Masdar, the future energy company in Abu Dhabi, was a strange move for a major oil producer,” he explained.

“However, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed knows the direction of the world and wants to be ahead. In fact, our leadership sees investment in clean and renewable energy as a natural and logical extension of Abu Dhabi and the UAE as a global Energy leaders and opportunities to develop new partnerships, new knowledge, new skills and new jobs.”

Dr. Al Jaber pointed out that the UAE has since established itself as a leader in renewable energy with the world’s three largest and lowest-cost solar power plants, and its wind and solar combination has grown to 13 GW in more than 30 years. Countries on five continents.

Regarding ADNOC’s transformation, Dr. Al Jaber recalled the challenging market dynamics when he was appointed as CEO, and gained insight into the motivations of the UAE leadership in guiding the company’s transformation.

“Our leadership believes that this is an opportunity that should not be wasted. This is an opportunity for our company to transform. We focus on performance, profitability and efficiency, embed technology throughout the organization, and support everything through HSE,” he said. In his speech, Dr. Al Jaber called on the oil and gas industry to embrace the opportunities brought by the energy transition and emphasized the measures ADNOC has taken in this regard.

“We should view this transition as a unique growth opportunity. The opportunity is the driving force for ADNOC to invest in new zero-carbon energy sources such as hydrogen. The opportunity is shaping our business case for carbon capture technology. The opportunity is creating a premium world for most people. Carbon-efficient barrels on top.

“At the same time, let us remember that the energy transition is exactly this-a transition that requires the hybrid energy we provide. Together, our company represents a few people who have elevated the majority to achieve the most prosperous development in history. At the end of his speech, Dr. Al Jaber emphasized that the UAE is committed to working with partners around the world to turn opportunities into reality when it comes to providing sustainable energy to the world.
