Sheikh Mohammed announced October 29 as the day of programmers-News

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced October 29 as a day to commemorate coding and programming professionals with the slogan “UAE Code”.

This date marked the launch of the first e-government in the region by Sheikh Mohammed on October 29, 2001, 20 years ago.

Every October 29th will celebrate the role of coding and programming professionals in advancing the growth and transformation vision of the national IT industry. This move supports the nationwide efforts to attract a new generation of programmers and coders to the country through measures such as the National Coder Program, which is in line with the UAE’s growth strategy and the Fifty Years Charter.

His Highness stated that excellence in coding and programming is an important driving force for innovation and creativity, technological and scientific excellence, economic growth and the country’s future vision. He said that the UAE places great emphasis on investing in the development of human capital and providing an environment for the growth of talents.

“Twenty years ago, we launched the first digital government in the region. This is where we build the best government in the world and create a new development model that enables people to turn their creativity and entrepreneurial aspirations into reality. The cornerstone of the vision. We want to respect the contributions of coders and programmers so that we can encourage the next generation of technical professionals to participate in building the future of the UAE,” he said.

Sheikh Mohammed decided on October 29 to recognize the contributions of coders and programmers, which will help promote the development of technology and artificial intelligence-related skills for future generations.

The plan also provides an important impetus to achieve the goal of the National Coder Program, which is to train and attract 100,000 programmers and create 1,000 major digital companies within five years. The plan also enables technology entrepreneurs, companies and start-ups to participate in advancing digital transformation in various key areas. In addition, it seeks to provide opportunities to promote cooperation between government and private sector entities to transform promising ideas into mature projects.

The “National Programmer Program” focuses on five key pillars, including: supporting programmers, entrepreneurs, startups, large companies, and academic departments; developing an integrated platform to promote participation between coders and local companies and universities And contact; start a skill development initiative featuring international trainers, aiming to cultivate local talents; attract the best international coding professionals to the UAE; cooperate with various government entities to put forward policy recommendations to promote the development of the coding industry.
