Robert Clark, U.S. Commissioner-General for the World Expo in Dubai Appointed by President Joe BidenHe said on Tuesday that he would lobby Congress to pass legislation that would allow the government to fund the country’s participation in future world fairs.

The United States is prohibited by Congress from using public funds to participate in exhibitions organized by the Bureau of International Exhibitions (BIE), such as the six-month World Expo that began in Dubai last week.

Instead, the UAE provided funding for the pavilion of its main security partner, which is home to the US exhibition, at a cost of 60 million U.S. dollars.

Clark said at the Expo: “One of my future tasks… is to educate the U.S. Congress on both sides of the aisle to understand the benefits of participating in the Expo.” “I am now engaged in these conversations.”

Clark is the most senior US government representative at the World Expo.

A congressional delegation is expected to visit the Expo, and Clark said he plans to “emphasize the importance” so that the government can use public funds in the future.

Businessman Clark, who has served in this position for less than a month, is speaking to reporters at the U.S. Pavilion, which displays replicas of Space X Falcon 9 rockets and the Koran owned by the third president, Thomas Jefferson.

Outside the pavilion is written “United States of America” in English and Arabic. Visitors can taste “New York” bagels in the restaurant of the pavilion and purchase NASA T-shirts at the souvenir shop.

The United States expects that its exhibition hall will attract more than 2 million visitors during the six-month exhibition. Expo organizers are expected to have 25 million visits to the exhibition grounds.

The United States has expressed interest in holding a smaller “professional fair” in Minnesota in 2027, and it is one of nearly 200 countries participating in the Dubai Fair.
