Sebastian Cuevas Pioneering Web3 Marketing

Sebastian Cuevas Pioneering Web3 Marketing

In an era where innovation defines success, UAE Times sits down with Sebastian Cuevas, visionary marketer, Fractional CMO, and founder of DMA, to explore his journey from crafting viral event videos to shaping the future of Web3 and blockchain marketing. With campaigns spanning 140+ countries and collaborations with giants like Disney, Warner Bros, and Universal Music Group, Sebastian Cuevas shares invaluable insights on risk, reinvention, and the power of storytelling.

Can you share key milestones and turning points in your journey as an industry leader or entrepreneur?

Sebastian Cuevas: One of the biggest turning points in my career was my very first job in the marketing department of Jeunesse Global. I started as Video Production Manager and helped the company go from $86 million to $1.6 billion in annual revenue in just three years. That explosive growth came in part, after we doubled down on video marketing, which was still uncharted territory for many businesses back in 2012.

Since then, I’ve had the privilege to work on campaigns for global names like Universal Music Group, Warner Bros, Saban Music, Walmart, Western Union (LATAM), and Disney—creating award-winning work that’s been seen across 140+ countries. More recently, I partnered as Fractional CMO & Co-founder for a tech startup called MemeCoinCreator.com, a platform built to help anyone launch their own meme coin or cryptocurrency project across multiple blockchains—with powerful tools like airdrop engines, pre-sale systems, AI-generated meme image generator, and even custom web pages for every coin launched. It’s making Web3 simpler, smarter, and more fun for creators.

What inspired you to start your own company or venture in this industry?

Sebastian Cuevas: Before I landed my first marketing job, I was filming DJ shows for artists like Steve Aoki, Armin Van Buuren, and Adventure Club. My recap videos had that live energy that made people feel something—and when the CMO of Jeunesse saw them, he said, “I want our corporate event videos to feel like this.”

That one comment sparked a whole new approach to corporate video marketing that undoubtedly helped us reach $1B+ in annual revenue. After that CMO left the company, new walls, layers of approvals, red tape, and a hesitancy to take bold creative risks set in and I reached a point where I knew that the only way to fully execute my vision—and help others do the same—was to build my own platform.

Now, I get to bring that same billion-dollar mindset to startups, creators, and tech innovators. And the freedom to move fast, test wild ideas, and collaborate directly with founders? That’s what keeps it exciting.

How do you foster innovation within your company? Can you provide an example of a successful innovation initiative?

Sebastian Cuevas: I’ve always believed that innovation starts with trust and freedom—letting the right people take ownership of ideas and run with them. A great example is our development of Meme Coin Creator, a launchpad that’s not just about creating coins—it’s a full-stack ecosystem. You can build and launch a token on major blockchains like Solana, Ethereum, BNB Chain, or XRPL, then promote it using our built-in viral airdrop tools, run pre-sales, generate logos with AI, and even publish a full branded site for your roadmap and tokenomics.

It’s a creator’s dream toolbox—and it solves real pain points for people trying to break into Web3 without coding or marketing experience.

How do you attract and retain top talent in your organization?

Sebastian Cuevas: You really don’t know someone until things go wrong on a tight deadline. I believe in jumping into the trenches with my team—not always, but enough to see how people lead under pressure and how well they listen when things get chaotic.

Those moments reveal character. And every time I’ve done that, we’ve created something remarkable. People stay when they feel like they’re building something real and that their leader is right there with them when it counts.

How important has mentorship and networking been in your professional journey?

Sebastian Cuevas: It’s been everything. I owe a lot to three people: my adoptive grandparents Dave and Mimi Campbell, who introduced me to photography and adventure through kayaking trips when I was a teenager. And the third is Brandon Scott, the former CMO of Jeunesse. He didn’t just hire me—he taught me how to craft marketing that connects, wins awards, and most importantly, converts.

Mentorship shaped my foundation. It’s why I always try to pay it forward now with my own team.

How do you assess and mitigate risks in your business?

Sebastian Cuevas: Leaving my first big marketing job to launch my own agency was probably the biggest risk I ever took—and one of the most valuable. It taught me how to feel the weight of every decision, every dollar spent, and it forced me to think smarter, not just bigger.

Now, I treat client budgets as if they’re my own. I stress-test ideas, we A/B test constantly, and I’m always ready to pivot if the data says we need to. I believe the best marketers are humble enough to course-correct early and fast.

How do you adapt your business strategy to capitalize on emerging opportunities and industry shifts?

Sebastian Cuevas: Staying ahead in this game means paying close attention to what’s working now, not just what worked last year. At DMA, we’re always testing the newest platforms, tools, and formats. For example, we’re currently scaling Meme Coin Creator, our first internally funded launchpad that empowers creators to start, grow, and scale their own crypto projects.

Whether it’s leveraging viral growth mechanics through airdrops, optimizing conversions through smart pre-sale strategies, or giving creators stunning web pages with a few clicks—we’re building the future of minting crypto coins. And we believe this will be a key player in the Web3 space over the next 3–5 years.

What advice would you give aspiring entrepreneurs in this industry? What key lessons have you learned along the way?

Sebastian Cuevas: Don’t wait for perfection—move with purpose. Some of the best campaigns I’ve launched weren’t perfect, but they were on time and on message. Also, get really good at listening. Not just to feedback, but to your gut, your team, and your audience.

And lastly: Don’t take shortcuts when it comes to storytelling. Whether it’s a crypto project or a corporate giant, the brands that win are the ones who tell stories that feel real.

What are your long-term goals for your company? How do you plan to remain competitive in the evolving business landscape?

Sebastian Cuevas: I see DMA evolving into a powerhouse for Web3 and emerging tech campaigns across the GCC and beyond. Our long-term goal is to continue launching ventures that push boundaries—not just campaigns for clients, but platforms like MemeCoinCreator.com that enable creators and founders to dream bigger and launch faster.

To stay competitive, I think you have to do two things: stay curious and stay humble. You’ve got to be willing to learn from younger creators, new technologies, and even your competition. That’s what keeps you sharp.

Final thoughts?

Sebastian Cuevas: My mom says, “Do your best, and God will do the rest.” It’s something I live by. It’s kept me grounded, ambitious, and open to whatever the journey brings next.
