The Italian Cultural Institute-Abu Dhabi (IIC) is an official government agency dedicated to the promotion of Italian language and culture and is now open to the public. The first and only Italian cultural center in the Gulf region is located in Abu Dhabi, in the Albatin region. Welcoming the public is an exhibition by Fabrizio Plessi, the first Italian to experiment with video art. The show is titled “Plessy’s Digital Wall” and shows five video works on separate TV screens that use water as an important element. Conveying the message of hope and happiness, the artist portrays the continuous flow of life in the water element, despite conflicts and interruptions. Plessi pushes the boundaries between art and science through digital art, and strives to humanize technology by striking a balance between human historical awareness and new technologies that are increasingly important in our daily lives.
