UAE Ministry Revokes Licence of Ajman Recruitment Agency for Violating Domestic Worker Laws

UAE Ministry Revokes Licence of Ajman Recruitment Agency Over Legal Violations

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has cancelled the operating licence of Oud Al Reem Agency for Domestic Worker Services in Ajman, following inspections that uncovered serious breaches of UAE labour regulations. The decisive action underscores the ministry’s commitment to enforcing strict standards within the domestic worker recruitment sector.

Violations and Enforcement Action

The licence revocation resulted from a series of compliance checks and field inspections. MoHRE identified multiple violations of the Domestic Workers Law and its implementing regulations by the agency. Consequently, the ministry acted under its legal mandate to cancel the agency’s licence and instructed local authorities to finalize the procedural revocation.

Legal proceedings are now underway against the agency’s owners and managers. They have been directed to regularize the status of all domestic workers under their sponsorship and settle any outstanding fines and legal obligations stemming from the violations.

Broader Compliance Campaign and Public Warning

This action is part of MoHRE’s wider enforcement campaign to regulate the domestic worker recruitment industry. In the first half of 2025 alone, the ministry penalized numerous agencies, recording over 100 legal violations.

MoHRE issued a stern warning to the public, urging residents to deal only with licensed and accredited agencies listed on the official MoHRE registry. Engaging with unlicensed entities exposes both employers and workers to significant legal, health, and safety risks.

The ministry encouraged residents to report any unethical practices by licensed offices through its official call centre, reinforcing its oversight mechanisms.

Commitment to Rights and Standards

MoHRE reaffirmed the robust regulatory framework governing the domestic worker sector, which is designed to protect the rights of all parties—workers, employers, and agencies. The ministry praised compliant agencies for their role in ensuring market stability and supporting the UAE’s sustainable economic growth.

Verification and Due Diligence for Employers

As a critical reminder, MoHRE advises all employers to verify an agency’s licence status on the ministry’s official website before engaging its services. This due diligence is essential to prevent legal complications and to ensure domestic workers are hired through reputable, law-abiding channels.

The revocation of Oud Al Reem Agency’s licence signals MoHRE’s unwavering dedication to tightening sector oversight, promoting transparency, and upholding the highest standards of welfare and legal compliance in the UAE’s labour market.
