Positive Update: CBSE Announces Early Class 10 Results 2026 in UAE, Offers Second Chance Exams

CBSE Class 10 Results 2026 Declared Early in UAE, Students Get Second Chance with Improvement Exams

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the Class 10 results for 2026 earlier than usual, bringing relief to thousands of students across the UAE. Typically announced in May, this year’s results were released in mid-April, allowing students to plan their academic future sooner after an uncertain examination season. Early results brought much-needed relief.

More than 13,500 CBSE students in UAE-based schools accessed their results through official websites, DigiLocker, and the UMANG app, as heavy traffic slowed down portals. For many, the early announcement marked the end of weeks of anxiety and helped them move forward with decisions regarding subject selection and higher studies. The portals struggled but delivered.

However, this year’s results come with a unique context. Due to regional tensions linked to the US–Israel–Iran conflict, several board examinations in the Middle East were disrupted or cancelled midway. Only exams conducted between February 17 and February 28 could be held as scheduled, while the remaining papers were cancelled to ensure student safety. Safety came first.

To address this disruption, CBSE introduced a special assessment scheme. Students’ final scores were calculated based on the exams they were able to attend, using averaging methods for the missed subjects. Depending on the number of papers completed, marks were derived from their best-performing subjects to maintain fairness and consistency. A fair formula was applied.

Despite these adjustments, the results are considered provisional for many students. Recognising the challenges faced during the academic year, CBSE has provided a significant opportunity for improvement through a second round of examinations. Scheduled between mid-May and early June, these “compartment-cum-improvement exams” will allow students to retake up to three subjects. A second chance is on offer.

Importantly, students can choose either core subjects or a combination of core and language papers for re-examination. The board has also ensured that the higher score between the original and improvement exam will be considered as the final result. This move is aimed at giving students a fair chance to enhance their performance without being disadvantaged by circumstances beyond their control. Best score counts.

School leaders across the UAE have welcomed this flexible approach. Principals noted that the second exam opportunity is part of CBSE’s broader academic reforms and not solely a response to the recent disruptions. The revised system aligns with a more student-friendly evaluation model that reduces pressure from a single high-stakes exam. A progressive step forward.

Students who wish to appear for the improvement exams must inform their schools within a limited window after the results are declared. Schools will then update candidate lists and conduct the exams at designated centres over a period that may extend up to three weeks. Timely action is required.

While the results have been celebrated, many schools have chosen not to announce toppers immediately, as scores may change after the second round of exams. Educators have also emphasized that this year should not be judged solely by marks, given the extraordinary circumstances faced by students. Focus on learning, not just scores.

Overall, the 2026 CBSE Class 10 results in the UAE reflect both resilience and adaptation. With early results, alternative assessment methods, and a second chance to improve scores, the board has attempted to balance academic integrity with student well-being in a challenging global environment. A balanced and compassionate approach. Students can now plan their future with confidence.
