The Pakistan Pavilion at the Expo 2020 site is considered the largest pavilion outside Pakistan
The President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, will pay a two-day visit to the UAE on Saturday to officially unveil the national pavilion for Expo 2020 Dubai.
During the visit, the President will meet with a number of UAE dignitaries as well as leading businessmen, investors, entrepreneurs, IT companies and senior representatives of the media. He will also interact with members of the Pakistani community in the UAE. This visit by the head of state coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and the UAE.
The Pakistan Pavilion at the Expo 2020 site is considered to be the largest pavilion outside Pakistan. With the theme of “Hidden Treasures”, the pavilion showcases Pakistan’s untapped and undiscovered wealth.
Pakistan and the UAE have a close fraternal relationship, which is deeply rooted in common beliefs, common historical and cultural origins. The UAE is Pakistan’s largest trading partner and main source of investment in the Middle East. This Arab country is also one of Pakistan’s main development partners in the fields of education, health and energy. In the last financial year, approximately 1.6 million Pakistani diasporas in the UAE contributed more than US$6 billion in remittances.
The frequent exchanges of high-level visits between the two countries have played a key role in strengthening bilateral relations and close cooperation.
