After making this decision, the U.S. Department of Justice stated: “After careful and thorough review, a group of experienced federal prosecutors determined that there was insufficient evidence to prove that the officer deliberately violated federal criminal and civil rights regulations. Therefore, there is no federal In the case of prosecution, the review of this incident has ended.”

This follows a similar decision made in January, when the prosecutor decided not to file a felony arrest warrant against Sheskey, because the video showed that Black was armed with a knife when he was first arrested. Siski also officially returned to work as a police officer in March after an administrative leave without any additional disciplinary action.

Kenosha police chief Daniel Miskinis said in a statement that at the time, it was determined that he was “discovered as acting within the scope of the policy and would not be subject to disciplinary action”.

As we previously reported, as early as August 2020, Rusten Sheskey shot Jacob Black during a domestic riot call, causing him to be paralyzed from the waist down. As a result, local protests took place for several nights.
