In recent years, Russian aviation safety standards have improved, but accidents, especially those involving aging aircraft in remote areas, are not uncommon.

Last month, an aging Antonov An-26 transport plane crashed in the Russian Far East, killing 6 people.

All 28 people on Antonov An-26 twin-engine turboprop aircraft Died in a car accident In July on the Kamchatka Peninsula.

The country also frequently has non-fatal aviation accidents that result in flight diversions and emergency landings, usually due to technical problems.

In the vast and remote areas of Russia, such as the Arctic and the Far East, weather conditions are often extremely harsh, and flying in Russia is particularly dangerous.
