Civil rights icon priest Jesse Jackson After the fight against COVID-19, his performance is much better! If you remember, he and his wife Jacqueline Jackson contracted the virus in August. She was released in September, and Pastor Jackson was released after receiving treatment at a rehabilitation facility for Parkinson’s disease two weeks ago.
according to Chicago Sun Times, Pastor Jackson held a party to celebrate his 80th birthday. He opened his heart to talk about his career and health, surrounded by pastors and leaders from all over Chicago. During the celebration, the vaccinated Pastor Jackson said that the vaccine saved his life. “I couldn’t walk or talk for three weeks,” he said. “I went to the rehabilitation center so I can learn to walk or talk again. You need to know, God, shooting is important.”
He continued, encouraging others in the black community to get vaccinated. “Register. Get vaccinated. Education,” Pastor Jackson repeated. “We must register to vote and we must be vaccinated.” Jonathan Jackson, the son of Pastor Jackson who attended the meeting, spoke of his father’s influence on civil rights and said that “his father’s work for social justice must continue today.”
During the event, Pastor Jackson took a second to switch gears and called for action on several social justice issues that he believed threatened “everything we have gained in the past 50 years.” Pastor Jackson declared: “We are in a critical situation. We must now organize a different paradigm, a different tendency.”
The political talk did not stop there. He took a trip along the road of memory and reviewed his meeting with the revolutionary Castro in 1984, which helped release 48 political prisoners. In addition, he briefly talked about his meeting with the late Nelson Mandela after his release from prison in 1990. It is great to see that Pastor Jackson is in good health!
