Jogiraj Sikidar, a resident of Dubai and the founder and director of the Malhaar Performing Arts Center, obtained a golden visa in the UAE arts and culture category.
“A few months ago, I received an email from the Dubai Culture and Arts Bureau stating that I was nominated for a golden visa in the creative category. This is really a surprise because I don’t know who nominated me, and I didn’t. Apply for a visa,” West Kidal said.
“I feel humble and grateful for the UAE government to receive this honor.” Sikidal said. This visa convinced me that Dubai is a melting pot of world culture and talented artists can flourish in the creative field,” he added.
The Golden Visa is part of the UAE Immigration Program and aims to attract investors, professionals, scholars and talented artists who can enrich the UAE society and may wish to move to the UAE-the UAE is one of the best places to live and work.
“About 16 years ago, I moved from India to Dubai and made the Emirates my home. To be honest, since I decided to give up my career in broadcasting media, become a full-time artist and set up Malhaar, my music career has flourished in Dubai. Art Center. The country has given me a lot, and I am grateful to the leaders of this country for their foresight,” Sikidal said.

As a well-trained musician, Sikidar belongs to Kirana Gharana. His teachers include professors like Pt. Mani Prasad, Kankana Banerjee, Shikha Ganguly and Rita Ganguly. Sikidar has mastered the legendary style of the late Siddeswari Devi and Begum Akhtar’s Thumri; this is a rare achievement for artists of his generation.
For more than 30 years, Jogiraj has been dedicated to performing and disseminating Hindustani classical music. He graduated from Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi and is an alumnus of IIM in Ahmedabad, India. Sikidar has been directing and producing Indian Broadway musicals through Malhaar of Dubai, the largest Indian performing arts group in the UAE. In 2016, Sikidar launched the Malhaar Performing Arts Center in Dubai, UAE, connecting the NRI community with its heritage.
