It was announced on Wednesday that more parking meters in Dubai will be transformed into works of art.

Brand Dubai is the creative department of the Dubai Government Media Office, and in cooperation with the Road and Transport Authority (RTA), launched the second phase of the “Parking Meter Project”.

Five UAE digital artists will portray their vision of “tradition meets modernity” on the instrument.

Fatma Al Mulla, the project’s manager, said: “One of the main goals of the project is to support talented local artists who have impressed the Dubai art scene. These artworks have been used to decorate parking meters in areas frequented by both parties. Residents and tourists, including Burj Khalifa, Al Wasl, Business Bay, 2nd December Street, Marsa Dubai, Al Ras, Gold Souq, Al Shandaghah, Al Buteen, Al Rigga and Rega Al Buteen.”

Emirati artists participating in the project include artist and illustrator Mohamed Aljneibi, who likes to experiment with different ideas, media and artistic styles, including cubism, surrealism and storytelling; and Saeed Alemadi, whose art combines popular cartoon characters with the UAE Culture and heritage merge into one.

Other artists include Maryam Alobeidli, founder of “Kadi Art Organization”; Alia Alhammadi, whose comics and illustrations combine cultural, literary, musical and natural elements; and Alya Fowzan, who uses watercolors, colored pencils and digital programs to create unique illustration.

Rowdah Al Mehrizi, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications, RTA Corporate Administrative Support Services, said: “The launch of the second phase of the project is part of our commitment to creatively enrich Dubai’s urban environment and improve people’s well-being and quality. . The life of the community, and to play a leadership role as a global city, celebrating the richness and diversity of its culture.”

Shaima Al Suwaidi, brand manager of Dubai Brand City, said: “The various artworks on the parking meters are a fascinating display of Dubai’s rich heritage and modern multicultural features. These creative projects aim to enhance Dubai’s public spaces as part of Dubai’s public spaces. The vision further strengthens the emirate’s position as the most popular lifestyle destination in the world.”
