After he said that DaBaby was Tupac Shakur in 2021, Fat Joe attracted the attention of many hip-hop fans.
The bold statement was made when Fat Joe and Big Tigger visited BET’s “Rap City”.
Tigger played a game with Fat Joe and asked him what he thought of several hip-hop legends in the 2021 version.
When Tigger asked “Who is the 2021 Tupac Shakur?” Joey Crack’s response shocked rap fans.
“I should know Tupac,” Fat Joe replied. “I don’t know, it’s hard to be these people. You are asking some crazy things. I would say DaBaby.”
DaBaby shared this video on his page to let Fat Joe know that he agrees with him.
After the video went viral on the Internet, Fat Joe was enthusiastically sought after by fans for comparison.
In return, Joey Clark went live on Instagram on Wednesday, explaining his unpopular views and refused to retract his statement.
“I’m not making excuses, I’m not saying sorry, I’m not… no,” Fat Joe said. “But who is the new Tupac? I don’t know, but if I guess,” he said, adding that he knew the late Tupac Shakur in real life.
Then he went on to explain why he specifically mentioned DaBaby when he was asked this question.
“I was thinking…DaBaby is real. Authenticated authenticity!” Fat Joe said. “Whether you like him or dislike him or whatever, I believe he lives his rap life. It’s very like Tupac.”
Then Fat Joe made it clear that DaBaby is not Tupac Shakur.
“Is he Tupac Shakur? No! No one will be Tupac Shakur.”
