This guide is designed for simple navigation, understanding the requirements for people to get in and out of the capital by road or air, and provide information on when to use the Alhosn Green Pass.
What are the current rules for entering Abu Dhabi?
Enter Abu Dhabi by road
As of September 19, there are no testing or vaccination requirements for entering the Emirate of Abu Dhabi by road (as long as you have not arrived from a non-green list country in the past 10 days, if you have and have not been vaccinated, you must follow the quarantine rules below) .
All nationals, residents and tourists over the age of 16 who want to enter almost any public place in Abu Dhabi (including restaurants, shopping malls, gyms and cinemas) must present a valid Alhosn Green Pass, except for some supermarkets and pharmacies. Part of the Green Pass standard is that you must be fully vaccinated (see below for the definition of fully vaccinated) and a PCR test was recently performed.
If you are fully vaccinated, you need to receive a negative PCR test within the past 28 days. People who are actively exempted (for medical reasons) must have a negative test within the past seven years.

Who needs isolation
The update of Abu Dhabi’s entry policy means From the beginning of September Individuals who are fully vaccinated, regardless of their nationality and/or where they are from, do not need to be isolated.
To qualify for “fully vaccinated”, the jab must be one of the vaccines approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).
The WHO has currently approved six Covid-19 vaccines for emergency use: Oxford-AstraZeneca (including Covishield), Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinopharm-BBIBP, Moderna, Sinovac and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson). You need to inject two doses more than 28 days ago. If you have injected Sinopharm in Abu Dhabi 6 months ago, you need to inject a third time-reflected in the Alhosn app.
If an unvaccinated passenger from a green list country returns a negative PCR result in the arrival PCR test, they are also not obliged to be quarantined. Unvaccinated passengers from non-greenlisted countries must be quarantined for 10 days (the day you arrive is considered the first day).
What is a green list?
The Abu Dhabi “green list” countries are a series of low-risk international territories that are believed to bring Covid-19 into the emirate. The list was compiled through a comprehensive analysis of epidemic management standards, covering areas including infection and vaccination rates, government policies, entry requirements, and testing protocols.
The green list will be updated regularly based on international health developments. To be on the list, destinations must meet a strict set of health and safety standards.
This means that passengers arriving from these destinations, regardless of their vaccination status, do not have to undergo a quarantine period, but must undergo PCR testing upon arrival at Abu Dhabi Airport.

If you are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (the last dose of vaccine was given at least 28 days before travel), you do not need to be quarantined when traveling between Abu Dhabi and the following countries: Bahrain, Greece, Serbia and Seychelles you.
PCR requirements for arrivals from green list countries
Passengers from green-listed countries do not need to be quarantined-regardless of the vaccination status (although if you are not vaccinated, you will be restricted from entering most public places-because this is Alhorn Green Pass, Which is essential for entering almost all places in the capital). Unvaccinated passengers from non-greenlisted countries must be quarantined for 10 days and undergo PCR on arrival and on the 9th day.
How can tourists prove that they have been vaccinated

The first step is to download the ICA application and fill in the form under the registration arrival section. Here, you can upload your vaccination certificate, and when finished, you will receive a text message with a link to download the Alhosn app. You need to use the same phone number on the ICA application as the Alhosn application-we recommend you to use UAE sim (you can change the registered phone number registered to ICA through the ICA application).
Next you need a UID number, which can be at the airport or via ICA website. This is essential for setting up your profile on the Alhosn app. You need to link a phone number to your Alhosn account (the same account you use for ICA).
