We arrived at the arched pillars of the Conrad Etihad Building in Abu Dhabi, just after dusk on an autumn Friday evening. It’s a long and warm summer, but then again, isn’t it? In the first impression, this may be a place where quantum teleportation takes place atom by atom from the Lower East Side of Manhattan. There is an elegant urban temperament running through it, it is civilized and refined, but somewhere below the surface, there is something more avant-garde.

An element of the big apple’s hum comes from the neon blue statement lighting, and the other twinkling city lights in the beautiful scenery beyond the yawning window.
