Dubai has achieved 98% of its strategic goal of becoming paperless-News

Achievements will increase productivity, ensure optimal resource consumption, digitize procedures and increase customer happiness.

Digital Dubai revealed at the press conference of GITEX Global 2021 that Dubai’s paperless strategy has achieved 98.86% of the government transaction digitalization target among all participating government entities.

A total of 43 Dubai government entities participating in the strategy have successfully digitized their internal and external processes. In total, they provide more than 1,800 digital services and have more than 10,500 key processes.

The new achievements are in line with the Dubai government’s strategic goals of turning the Emirate into the world’s digital capital, improving government productivity, ensuring the best resource consumption, digitizing procedures and services, and enhancing customer happiness.

The core of this strategy and the entire digital transformation project is government integration, which has led to a significant shift to automated procedures and services.

These in turn helped save 331 million sheets of paper that would have been used for transactions, cut costs by more than AED 1.3 billion, and saved the government more than 14 million man-hours. From an environmental perspective, the strategy saved more than 39,000 trees that would otherwise be used to produce paper.

Abdulla Al Basti, Secretary General of the Dubai Executive Committee attended the meeting; Hamad Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai; and Wesam Lootah, Chief Executive Officer of Smart Dubai Government Agency, as well as officials and representatives of participating government entities .

“Under the guidance of its leadership’s ambitious vision and clear goals, Dubai has taken a new and important step forward in seeking to digitize all aspects of life in the emirate to ensure that Dubai has a fully digitalized by December 2021. Government, all transactions will take place here. 100% paperless,” Al Mansoori said.

Lootah pointed out: “The roadmap developed by Dubai’s paperless strategy has achieved many notable achievements, from a complete redesign of operations to the promotion of the widespread use of digital identity and electronic signature services. It has helped create an integrated and interconnected network that has popularized The use of government resource planning systems has promoted the development of digital legislation.”

Dubai’s paperless strategy promotes and simplifies government transactions, restricts customer transactions or the use of paper between Dubai government employees, and designs a 100% paperless experience provided by the DubaiNow app, which includes 12 main categories All city services.

The strategy will be implemented in all Dubai government entities in December 2021 to achieve the digitization of key government services.
