Apple launches new MacBook, AirPods and a $5 music streaming service-News

[ad_1]

The new MacBook Pro notebooks with 14-inch and 16-inch displays are powered by the new chip.

Apple on Monday launched two new MacBook Pro models with a new internal Apple Silicon chip, as well as a new generation of AirPods wireless earbuds and a $5 monthly music subscription service.

The new MacBook Pro laptops with 14-inch and 16-inch displays use new chips. These models canceled the “Touch Bar” that Apple fans complained about and restored several connectors that had disappeared in recent years-including the company’s “MagSafe” power connector, which angered some of the company’s users.

Apple said that the 14-inch model will start at $1,999 and the 16-inch model will start at $2,499. Apple said that both computers will begin shipping next week.

Apple’s two new high-performance chips are called M1 Pro and M1 Max. These chips are designed to have better performance than the company’s previous M1 chips, but consume less power than rival chips from companies such as Intel and Advanced Micro Devices Inc. Apple chip chief Johny Srouji said that the M1 Max chip has exhausted 100 watts of power lower than other high-end notebook chips, which means longer battery life.

“This is the most powerful chip we have ever made,” Srouji said of the M1 Max. Before Monday, Apple’s most powerful notebook computer relied on Intel chips. The company has installed the first-generation internally designed M1 chip in some MacBooks and Mac Mini and iMac desktops.

At the same time, Apple said at the press conference that Apple’s newly launched AirPods are sweat- and water-resistant, can be used for exercise, and will have some of the sound features previously found in high-end AirPods Pro. Apple said that the new AirPods are priced at $179 and will start shipping next week.

Starting Monday, Apple’s new AirPods can be ordered online in the United States and more than 26 other countries and regions. This headset will be available in stores starting October 26th. Additional devices such as AirPods tend to sell well during the holiday shopping season and have become one of Apple’s fastest-growing categories, with its home and accessories division growing by 25% to $30.6 billion in Apple’s 2020 fiscal year. On Monday afternoon, the stock price rose about 0.8%.
