Your UAE ID will soon become a historical record of identification. In the near future, your face will become your identity-literally-and provide all the details about your presence in the UAE.

The Federal Identity and Citizenship Administration (ICA) has launched an upgraded digital authentication portal for governments and private organizations to use facial recognition to verify personal identities.

After registering for facial biometrics on the ICA portal, users will receive a one-time password (OTP) to confirm their identity. “Once the identity is confirmed, there is no need for a physical UAE ID to confirm a person’s identity.
